Invest In Their Future

Partners in Education (PIE) unites businesses, congregations, and community organizations with Tulsa Public Schools for the common goal of enhancing the education experience for students in Tulsa Public Schools and creating a workforce pipeline for Tulsa.

Our school partners understand that the quality of a community is defined by the strength of its public schools. They lend their time, talent, and treasure to helping our schools prosper and our students succeed.

There are
three avenues to become a Partner in Education: Adopt-A-School, Attend to Win, and  Partners in Education Sponsorships.

Adopt-A-School

Partners in Education: Adopt-A-School provides a structured pathway for Tulsa Public Schools to partner with the Tulsa community. Corporate and congregation-based organizations have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with educators and students.

  • Enhance the educational experiences for students at Tulsa Public Schools.
  • Create a workforce pipeline for the Tulsa community.
  • Support our deserving educators and school leaders.
  • Support the unique needs of each school.

1. Contact us today by completing the form below! Annabelle Elliot leads the Partners in Education efforts.
2. We will help you identify a school and facilitate a meeting with the school leaders to discuss partnership goals.

Partners in Eduation Sponsorship

Partner in Education: Sponsorship enables us to invest in teacher and student-centered priorities from classroom support to experiential learning experiences such as field trips and summer expanded learning.

Attend to Win

Attend to Win! is Tulsa Public Schools’ comprehensive citywide effort to combat chronic absenteeism and drive home the importance of showing up for school each and every day. We are working with families and community partners to get students to school every day! Attendance is a leading indicator of student outcomes, and we know that in order to set our students up for success, they must Attend to Win!

  1. Students who live in communities with high levels of poverty are 4x more likely to be chronically absent than others, often for reasons beyond their control.
  2. Regular attendance has a direct impact on outcomes for students, including sense of belonging, social development, reading proficiency, test scores, and graduation rates.
  3. Students who are chronically absent are more likely to suffer academically and socially and are more likely to drop out.
  4. Well-prepared graduates have more stable career choices and better economic prospects than their peers who dropped out, and they contribute to a flourishing local economy.
  5. When students are in school, they are less likely to be involved in crime or risky behaviors, creating a safer and healthier Tulsa community.
  6.

To improve attendance, we need the community’s help with the following:

  1. Attendance Incentives
  2. Transportation
  3. Physical and Mental Health
  4. Safety
  5. Housing Insecurity

Partners in Education Sponsorships

Our children are Tulsa’s most critical resource. They are tomorrow’s workers, leaders, innovators, knowledge creators, and change agents. They deserve access to schools with the resources, programs, and curriculum to nurture their curiosity, imagination, spirit, talents, and desire to learn. The amazing teachers at Tulsa Public Schools are at the heart of student learning. They are everyday superheroes, working tirelessly encouraging young minds to think, question, and create. They inspire their students at every age and every stage, recognizing the potential of their students when no one else does.

A Partner in Education Sponsorship through the Foundation for Tulsa Schools enables us to invest in teacher and student-centered priorities from classroom support to experiential learning experiences such as field trips and summer expanded learning.

The Foundation for Tulsa Schools is living it’s mission by building a better community through the support of Tulsa Public Schools.

Partner Highlight

  • The value of serving as a volunteer with Partners in Education is that you have the opportunity to develop a long-term relationship with a child, making a difference in the child’s life. We know we can impact achievement, but what really counts is the relationship you establish with the child. You can be a force in changing how this child feels about learning.

The partnership between All Souls Unitarian Church and Jackson Elementary began in 1988 and it continues to this day. All Souls provides tutors as reading buddies, math buddies, classroom volunteers, enrichment programs and field trips. All Souls has expanded its partnership to Gilcrease Junior High, Gilcrease Elementary, Hamilton Middle School and McLain Seventh Grade Academy.

  • You can’t enter the school without seeing one of our volunteers or their work. When the students faces light up when they see you, then you know you are making a difference in someone’s life. Their smiles are a greatreward!
-Cathy Carney, Asbury United Methodist Church

Asbury United Methodist Church and its volunteers help support teachers, staff and students at Walt Whitman Elementary. The church supports the school by helping in the classrooms, with class parties, tutoring and mentoring students and with activities such as knitting or art therapy.

  • ONEOK, Inc. understands that it takes a village to make an impact. Whether it’s spending time with our students, exposing them to different subjects or celebrating our staff, we are grateful to have them as a part of the village.
-Tammy Britton, Principal at Burroughs Elementary

ONEOK, Inc. has contributed to Burroughs Elementary continuously through their generous donations and weekly presence in the school building.Programs ONEOK helped sponsor include:

    – Fab Lab/STEAM Program: A hands-on project for 6th grade

    – Math Mentors: ONEOK, Inc. employees donate time every week to play research-based math games with 4th-graders

    – ONEOK Winning Ways Teacher of the Week: A weekly award that recognizes staff members who go above and beyond with a gift card

    – Reading Partners: A portion of this project is generously funded through a gift of ONEOK, Inc.

    – Holiday Luncheon: An annual event that brings faculty and staff together to share a meal and express gratitude

    – Teacher Appreciation Lunches: Each year, ONEOK, Inc. honors and appreciates the Burroughs faculty and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week

  • We value our teachers and the amazing work they do—developing our next generation of Tulsa leaders!

T.D. Williamson supports local schools with funding, donated items, mentors and volunteers.

  • Quality education for Oklahoma’s children and youth is the foundation for not only their future quality of life, but that of our State.

Each year the JROTC of Central High School posts the colors of PSO’s annual Veteran’s Day program at their headquarters.

PSO gives a book to each Reading Partners student at Wayman Tisdale Fine Arts Academy during Week of the Young Child each year.
